Summer Assignment 2017

United States History II Honors
Ms. Krall Room 347
2016-2017

Welcome to US History II honors!  You have chosen to experience American history in a challenging but rewarding environment.  It is imperative that you understand the following: you will get out of this class what you put into this class.  United States History II honors is a college preparatory course that will cover the beginning of the 20th century to the present. I have high expectations of you, including that you complete some preparatory work over the summer so that we may begin the school year ready to go.  Please develop a plan of attack for the summer assignment so that you are not scrambling to complete the assignment with only a few days left.

What to do before the end of the school year and over the summer:

·       Read this course description paper and the class description online at http://www.krallhistory.com/us-history-ii-honors.html. Have you, your parent and/or guardian sign and return to me by June 1st.
·       Visit our class website over the summer.  Familiarize yourself with the website, visit the tabs, and familiarize yourself with the resources posted.  There will be a copy of your summer assignment posted on the page.
·       You may follow the class twitter account (@KrallAP) for updates over the summer, however this is not required. If you follow the class account, do not use twitter to communicate with me.  Use my email address (krallk@sgasd.org).
·       Purchase a 2-3” three-ring binder in which to organize your assignments. You will need it.
·       Purchase a composition notebook for class notes. You will need it.
·       Complete the summer assignment. I will not accept the assignment late.

If you have any questions regarding the course or the assignment, feel free to email me at krallk@sgasd.org.  Manage your time wisely! I suggest you do not wait until the last remaining week of summer to start your assignment. Pace yourself. This will allow you to enjoy your summer much more.
