After the events of Shay's Rebellion, representatives from each state met at the Philadelphia Convention with one goal in mind: improve the Articles of Confederation by strengthening the national govt.
However, shortly after convening several representatives proposed the idea of creating an entirely new Constitution. People were quickly divided, and eventually two groups formed: the Federalists (supporters of the new Constitution) and Anti-Federalists (supporters of an improved A.O.C.)
